Is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop all-around goodness?
The Asus Republic Of Gamers Zephyrus G14 (fourteen) laptop is an absolute beast! Like, seriously, it’s a freaking powerhouse in a compact package. With the design and specifications I think they completely nailed it for any application!
First off, let’s talk about that Ryzen CPU – it’s like having a tiny genius living inside your laptop resolving all those tasks in micro-seconds.
Multitasking? Gaming? 3D or Video work? No problemo.

And the graphics card? Man, I fired up some games, and with the high to ultra-high settings they ran smoother than a buttered-up penguin sliding down an ice hill. And the display is crispier than a bag of freshly opened potato chips with it’s 120 (one-hundred-twenty) hertz refresh rate!
Now, the design – It’s cooler than a ninja disappearing into the night. And that is one reason that made me choose this laptop. It’s made from magnesium and the design is cool enough for high tech lovers and gamers but it’s also elegant enough for those corporate business meetings where everybody wears black ties. The color is just gorgeous and the size and weight is just right for carrying around all day.
I think The AniMe Matrix LED back-lid is a little bit of a flex and unnecessary power usage for the battery, you can make it show off custom animations or even useful stuff like battery percentage and sometimes it’s useful in a picth black room and it’s like having a night-light for the ambiance, but you can turn it off in the software anytime.
The keyboard is illuminated and feels just right, and the trackpad is smooth like butter on a warm pancake.
Battery life surprised me too – lasted longer than my attention span during online classes. And it charges up crazy fast. You can even charge it on USB-C Power Delivery with a phone charger.
As a matter of fact I am doing design work, and editing these videos on this laptop, and exporting is super fast and even faster if the power cord is plugged in.
One tiny drawback – the fans can get a bit loud when you’re pushing it, but I guess that’s the price you pay for raw power.
If you’re using it as your main workhorse maybe a larger screen laptop would be better, but overall, the Asus ROG laptops are freaking legend. In these price range is totally worth it!
